The Bamboo Forest Kyoto aka (Arashiyama Bamboo Grove )is one of Kyoto’s top sights. You will be surrounded by bamboo and it really feels like a different world.
Arashiyama (嵐山) is a beautiful, tourist district located on outskirts of Kyoto. This area is popular and has been used for many movie shooting. Arashiyama is particularly popular during the cherry blossom and fall color seasons.You’ve probably seen pictures of the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest but there is actually a few spots nearby which you should visit too.
1. The Togetsukyo Bridge is Arashiyama’s well-known hotspot. It has many small shops, restaurants, and attractions nearby, including Tenryuji Temple, Arashiyama’s famous bamboo forest, and a rental boat ride along the river.
Note: During Spring, Arashiyama becomes very beautiful with cherry blossom during early April. However, of course, it is also the peak season and there will be huge crowd visiting this area. Another good season to visit is during fall which is around November when all the leaves turn red.

1. The easiest way to access to Arashiyama is from by using JR Sagano Line (aka JR Sanin Line) from Kyoto Station. (15 minutes to Saga-Arashiyama Station and costs 240 yen).
From Saga-Arashiyama Station, you can walk to Arashiyama in about 7 minutes.
